Initial Treatment:
1. Establish individual patient's goals for therapy, to assess against clinical outcomes, for example:
- Decrease frequency/severity of infections
- Decrease number of opportunistic infections
- Decrease number of antibiotic treatments or prescription orders
- Decrease number of hospitalizations for infections
- Decrease chronic fatigue
- Decrease diarrhea episodes
- Improve/maintain pulmonary function
- Improve the quality of life
2. Initiate IG therapy in accordance to the condition indicated and for adults by the severity:
- Consider antibiotic and/or antifungal prophylaxis and vaccinations in addition to IG treatment
- Initiate IG treatment for:
a. Children: 0.4 - 0.6 g/Kg every 3 - 4 weeks
b. Adults Less Severe Conditions: 0.2 - 0.4 g/Kg every 3 - 4 weeks e.g. sinusitis
c. Adults More Severe Conditions: 0.4 - 0.6 g/Kg every 3 - 4 weeks e.g. splenomegaly, opportunistic infection, bronchiectasis on CT scan
